As molars come in

Two weeks ago Ava had a fever for no reason and we thought she was sick then realized her gums were swollen all over! So we got past that fever after a couple of days, but no tooth to show for it. Had a few good days, but she was very clingy and just not herself. Then last Saturday we went to Gooding to see family and as we pulled her out of her car seat we commented on how hot she felt, but associated it to all of her blankets (to get her to sleep in the car she has to have her big quilt and 2 blankies) and the heat being up in the car too. But after an hour or so of being at G'pa and G'ma's house she was still super hot so we took her temp to discover it was 101.5 :( So G'ma and I went to town to get some children's Tylenol. She never got any relief from her fever (come to find out we were only giving her a half a dose :( poor baby). But we had temps of 102 for two days and she was just miserable. But the good news was, we could feel the top molar coming through finally!! We knew a couple days ago how bad she was feeling because she wanted to be held!! She did not want her feet on the ground!!! And she would lay her head on my shoulder and just be a sack of potatoes. This is not Ava. Ava is the child who is more upset you have picked her up than she is about falling down. Where had our Ava gone?

The other problem Ava has when she teeths is diaper rash. These rashes are nothing short of horrific for her. They started two weeks ago but were being controlled with creams. It turned into a yeast one day but Lortimin cured that right up. Well...when the high temps hit it came with some horrible diarrhea (sorry for those who didn't want to know that), which in turn came with a horrible rash. Creams were no longer working, her bottom was bleeding, and it was getting so bad it was spreading down her thighs and it hurt her so bad she would scream (and I mean SCREAM) with every diaper change, she wouldn't even sit in bath any more, and she would cry if she was sitting on her bottom too long :( So I called the doctor (I should add we have the most wonderful doctor and nurse! I love them  both so much!) and they sent over a prescription for Nystatin cream and we started that yesterday.

She woke up once last night just an hour or so after going to bed and I just held her and prayed and prayed that God would heal her and bring her relief. I was at my end point. I couldn't handle seeing her in so much pain and be so uncomfortable all the time. Well boy did He answer our prayers!!! She woke up this morning,  and while her rash is just starting to decrease it is not as painful today! And she is back to her feisty self!! :) It has been so nice having my girl back today!

When we are sick our musts are our blankies, and either her milk cup or a baby or her little puppy. Such a sweet girl!
